Introduction and Aims of the Event |
|
| The Pacific University in Media
partnership with the Dainik Bhaskar newspaper is organizing an all India
“Jugaad Promotion Exhibition and Patent Facilitation Workshop – 2012” to
promote frugal engineering and reverse engineering for resource
constrained innovations to facilitate a quick leap for India into the category
of developed nations. Moreover, the talent spread over the country can be
nationally identified only by an event of this kind. The creative genius of such
wide spread talent can also be sustained and promoted by offering motivation,
support and protection to them.
It is needless to say that frugal engineering and genuine reverse engineering
can help India to scale ever newer heights in manufacturing and new product
development at affordable cost. India can offer high tech production of
dependable quality at an affordable cost.
The basic aim of this event is to recognize and motivate imaginative minds
depicting novelty and creativity for providing indigenous solutions to replace
expensive machines and equipments or by innovating solutions to save cost and
money in manufacturing. The variants of such innovations are popularly called as
“Jugaads” developed through frugal engineering or reverse engineering and
can take manufacturing to newer heights.

About Jugaad |
|
|
A Hindi slang word, Jugaad translates to an
improvisational style of innovation that's driven by scarce resources and
attention to a customer's immediate needs. It is the art of creative
improvisation - within a framework of deep knowledge and experience.
Jugaad starts with the attitude that a solution will be found by aligning behind
any constraint and by applying creative and out of the box thinking and coming
out with a problem-solving innovation that simultaneously scales, meets enhanced
customer exception, and are cost-efficient
Ingenuity is a necessity when resources are limited and customers have little
money. Jugaad-minded innovators turn adversity-such as widespread scarcity of
natural and financial reources- into an opportunity to innovate and create more
valuable products and services at less cost for more people |
